cor=co==共同，一起，一体。根据声音变化法则：porate=port，因为元音变化可忽略，我们保留字母o,其他元音都忽略掉。而port是港口、承担的意思，再由承担引申为承担责任和义务。所以本单词连起来就是：共同承担责任和义务的事物。也就是公司。根据公司法规定：所有股东都要共同承担有限责任。而公司也叫做法人。
