你能想到毒品heroin（海洛因）和表示“英雄”的单词hero有关吗？没错，其实它们来源相同，都来自希腊语heros（半神）。19世纪90年代末期，德国化学家Paul Dresser教授最早发现heroin这种化学物质时，发现吸食这种物质后令人产生一种飘飘然的快感，仿佛变成了神通广大的英雄一般，因此将这种物质命名为heroin，中文译为“海洛因”。
