    mistake, error, fault, flaw

The dean demands perfection in others, but cannot see faults in himself.

Please pardon any error that you may discover in my letter.

This book contains a lot of printer's errors.

I used your ink by mistake.

He made some spelling mistakes in his test paper.

It was a mistake to appoint her.

It was a mistake appointing her.

    mistake, confound, confuse
